Butt-weld elbows
90° and 45° long radius, 90° short radius, 180° returns and 3D/5D elbows to ASME B16.9, seamless and welded, ½ inch to 48 inch.
About elbows
Elbows change the direction of a line. Long radius (1.5D) elbows are the default because they cause less pressure drop. Short radius (1D) elbows save space where the layout is tight.
Centre-to-end dimension A (90°) or B (45°) is measured from the centre of curvature to the welding end, as shown on the diagrams.
- 90° long radius (1.5D)
- 45° long radius
- 90° short radius (1D)
- 180° long and short radius returns
- 3D and 5D elbows and bends
- Reducing elbows

Ends, marking, testing and packing
Ends and bevels
Bevelled to ASME B16.25, normally 37.5° ± 2.5° with a 1.6 mm root face, or to your weld-end detail. Wall thickness matched to the pipe schedule.
Marking
Each fitting is marked with Teshi mark, grade, size, schedule, heat number and standard, traceable to its material certificate.
Testing
- Dimensional and visual inspection
- PMI on alloy fittings
- RT of welded fittings (WX class), IGC for stainless
- Impact tests for WPL6 and WPHY
Finish and packing
Stainless and nickel alloys solution annealed, pickled and passivated. Carbon steel varnished or painted. Packed in wooden cases, seaworthy for export.
Questions buyers ask
What is the centre-to-end of a 6 inch long radius elbow?
229 mm for a 90° LR elbow (dimension A) and 95 mm for a 45° LR elbow (dimension B), per ASME B16.9.
When should I use a short radius elbow?
Where space is tight, for example near equipment nozzles. Short radius elbows have higher pressure drop and are often limited by piping specifications, so check yours first.
Do you make 3D and 5D bends?
Yes, to order. Send the bend radius, angle and tangent lengths.
