Butt-weld tees and crosses

Equal tees, reducing tees and crosses to ASME B16.9 for branch connections, seamless or welded.

About tees

A tee splits or combines flow at 90°. In an equal tee all three ends are the same size; in a reducing tee the branch is smaller.

C is the centre-to-end of the run and M the centre-to-end of the branch. For equal tees C and M are the same.

What the dimensions mean

Every letter used in our tables, marked on the drawing.

Equal tee, centre-to-end C (run) and M (branch)CCM
Equal tee. C = run centre to end, M = branch centre to end.
  • CCentre to end of run
  • MCentre to end of branch

Ends, marking, testing and packing

Ends and bevels

Bevelled to ASME B16.25, normally 37.5° ± 2.5° with a 1.6 mm root face, or to your weld-end detail. Wall thickness matched to the pipe schedule.

Marking

Each fitting is marked with Teshi mark, grade, size, schedule, heat number and standard, traceable to its material certificate.

Testing

  • Dimensional and visual inspection
  • PMI on alloy fittings
  • RT of welded fittings (WX class), IGC for stainless
  • Impact tests for WPL6 and WPHY

Finish and packing

Stainless and nickel alloys solution annealed, pickled and passivated. Carbon steel varnished or painted. Packed in wooden cases, seaworthy for export.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

Do you make reducing tees in all size combinations?

Standard reducing tees follow the branch combinations listed in ASME B16.9. Other combinations, and fabricated tees for large sizes, are made to order.
